More About Departure Areas:

  • Washington DC has its own departure area.

  • California Notice: If you want alerts for all airports in California, only choose California as choosing Southern California Departures or Northern California Departures + also choosing California will lead to duplicate emails.

  • New York & New Jersey: Newark International Airport (EWR) is a primary airport many New Yorkers use. However, we have members in New Jersey who only wish to receive alerts from Airports in New Jersey. If a member only has New York departures selected, they will not receive the alerts for Newark. Newark Airport is a major hub that has amazing deals of amazing deals. If you would like to be sure to get those alerts as well, you will need to ensure you have New Jersey Departues selected in your departure settings.

  • You will be able to update your settings below if you want to make changes

Tip: Get the most out of your membership?

Let's say we have a member we'll call "Dave". Dave lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, of which Milwaukee has an International Airport that receives many alerts.

However, Dave knowing Chicago O'hare is a Large International Hub and it being 1.5hr from Daves home, he also has "Illinois" selected as a departure area in order to receive all the alerts that depart from Chicago's O'hare Airport.

You may update these settings anytime in the future by logging into your account or using the link located at the bottom of every airfare alert you receive.

Understanding Our Alerts

If you are new, and aren't an existing member who upgraded, we want to give you a bit of information about the things we discuss or include in our alerts, so that when you see them you will have an understanding of what they mean, and how to read the information we provide in an alert.

Below is an alert card, and you will see a card like this when you get an alert. Let's talk about what's in it.

Depart: Dallas (DFW)

  • Destination: Castries (UVF)
  • Airline(s): American, United, Delta
  • Available Dates: SEP-DEC 2024; JAN-FEB; APR 2025
  • Price: $265
  • Price may last 1-2 days
View On Google Flights
  • Departure Airport: (Self Explanatory)
  • Available Dates:
In this example it says SEP-DEC 2024; JAN-FEB; APR 2025.

This means that that the alerted price can be found at least 1 or more times in the months of September, October, November, December 2024, and January, February, and April 2025
  • Airline(s):
These are the airlines that have flights available at the alerted price, at least 1 or more times within the date range alerted.

Important: Even though more than 1 airline may be mentioned in the alert and available within the date range mentioned, they may or may not be available on the exact same date, and to see the alerted price with the other airlines, a date change may be required.

Example: If it says....

Airlines: American & Delta
Dates: FEB-APR 2025

When clicking the "View on Google Flights" button that we provide, it will show you a flight deal with one of the mentioned airlines at the alerted price.

However, lets say in this example you were to click "View On Google Flight" and it shows Delta at the alerted price, but American is showing a drastically higher price. That simply means, that the alerted price for American is available on a different date, although still within the date range mentioned.

You can find what dates your preferred carrier mentioned in an alert has the alerted price available by simply using the "Airline Filter" on Google Flights.

Prior to searching for prices and dates, go to the airline filter and select the airline alliance that carrier belongs to, and now when you click on the departure & return calendar on Google Flights, all the prices that are now displayed for each day of the year, will only for that specific airline.

However, be sure to choose the alliance rather than the airline due to partnerships and codeshare that can sometimes cause flights to vanish if you only choose the airline.

If the alert we provided does not include a link to Google Flights, when wanting to isolate all the dates that will work for you so that you can decide when to book, just take the information from our alerts and to to Google Flights to search instead of unfriendly websites like Expedia, Priceline Etc.

Those websites are fine to book on, but Google Flights reigns supreme when wanting to know all the exact date options you have.

The difference is, that on Google Flights when you click the calendar, it's going to display the price for every single day. This will allow you to easily locate those dates without needing to manually search and wait for search results like you do on Expedia and similar websites.

This allows you to know your options within 5 minutes or less, instead of spending hours searching for a needle in a haystack.

This may sound complicated, but its really simple and you will catch on as you get more familiar with using Google Flights and seeing our alerts.

  • Price May Last Duration:
This is just our best guess as to how long we think the deal will last. However, just know that they can change anytime or last longer than what we estimate. Flash sales will always last between 1 to 6 days duration, and mistake fares can change within minutes, or last hours and on the rare occasion 24 hours.

Tip: Always book immediately and use the 24 hour cancel rule if what you booked isn't going to work for you.

Mistake Fare Information

When booking a mistake fare, it’s crucial to hold off on making any non-refundable travel arrangements for at least 48 hours. Typically, airlines notify travelers within this period if they choose not to honor such fares.

Although rare, with about 90% of mistake fares being honored, we still say hold off on booking hotels etc. for 48 hours.

Airlines generally only refuse these fares under extreme circumstances, as they can typically catch these mistakes within 1-24 hours of them being discovered and therefore it limits the number of travelers that were able to get booked, and they just decide to take a small hit as they don't have the resources to have customer service calling and dealing with the small number of travelers who got an amazing deal and creating bad PR and upset customers.

Important:
Never contact the airline to confirm the legitimacy of an abnormally low fare. Assume everything is in order unless you hear otherwise from the airline.

You have a 0% chance of showing up for a flight weeks or months later, only for them to ruin your day. In the rare case they will not honor it, they will always contact you via email or phone and let you know within 1-2 days.

By contacting them, you're just waving a huge flag that says "Please Cancel This Amazing Deal", and also will cause the mistake to get fixed sooner and preventing others from being able to get booked. Unfortunately, this is how most mistakes are corrected, by someone calling in 🙄

Ensure Our Alerts Arrive To Your Inbox

Email service providers like Google, Yahoo etc. have recently informed businesses that they will be making changes to try and get rid of the major problem that is email spam.

Due to our alerts being time sensitive, these changes had us worried as we don't ever want an alert arrive to you late by going in the promotions tab or even worst the spam folder.

Thankfully, they told us that customers who save our email address alerts@jetsetteralerts.com in their email contacts would prevent any changes they make accidently causing any hiccups, as this signals to email service providers that "I know this person, and emails from them are important".
