Exploring Bangkok was an exhilarating experience. My visit to the Grand Palace was awe-inspiring, with its intricate architecture and vibrant colors. At Wat Pho, I marveled at the Reclining Buddha, a must-see in Bangkok. Shopping at the Chatuchak Weekend Market was a highlight; the vast selection of goods and local street food was incredible. I also enjoyed savoring delicious street food in Chinatown, where the aromas and flavors were unforgettable. Lumphini Park provided a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, and the boat tour along the Chao Phraya River offered stunning views of Bangkok's skyline.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is a city that combines culture and adventure. Visiting Wat Phra That Doi Suthep was a spiritual experience, with its golden chedi shining brightly under the sun. Exploring the Old City Temples, especially Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh, offered a deep dive into Thailand’s rich history and architecture. The Chiang Mai Night Bazaar was a feast for the senses, with vibrant stalls selling everything from handicrafts to delicious street food.

One of the highlights was a cooking class where I learned to make authentic Thai dishes. Visiting an ethical elephant sanctuary was a heartwarming experience, as I got to interact with these gentle giants in a natural environment. Finally, indulging in a traditional Thai massage was the perfect way to relax and rejuvenate.

Pai's relaxed vibe was a welcome change of pace. Hiking Pai Canyon during sunset was a breathtaking experience, as the colors lit up the rugged terrain. Exploring Pai Walking Street was a delight, with its diverse range of food stalls and artisan crafts. Pam Bok Waterfall was a beautiful spot for a refreshing swim, surrounded by lush greenery.

I spent some time relaxing in the natural hot springs, which was incredibly soothing. The Land Split, a natural phenomenon caused by an earthquake, was intriguing, and I enjoyed the hospitality of the local farmer who offered delicious snacks. Finally, visiting the White Buddha on the hill provided a peaceful moment with panoramic views of the Pai valley.

Koh Tao

Chalok Baan Kao Bay offered a more serene beach experience, perfect for unwinding. A boat trip to nearby Koh Nang Yuan was unforgettable; the island's unique sandbar and turquoise waters were stunning. Trying diving for the first time was a thrilling experience, and I was amazed by the underwater world. Dining by the beach as the sun set was a perfect way to end each day.

Koh Samui offered a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Relaxing on Chaweng Beach was delightful, with its soft sand and clear waters. The Big Buddha Temple was awe-inspiring, and the panoramic views from the hill were breathtaking. Fisherman’s Village charmed me with its quaint shops and delicious seafood restaurants.

A sunset cruise around the island was a magical experience, watching the sun dip below the horizon. Stand-up paddleboarding was a fun way to explore the coastline, and I even managed to stay upright most of the time! Koh Samui's nightlife was lively and exciting, with beach parties and clubs providing endless entertainment.

Koh Phangan

My stay at the Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas was an indulgent escape into luxury. Nestled along a pristine beach, the villas offered privacy and stunning ocean views. I chose this resort for its reputation as a luxurious retreat and was not disappointed by the elegant decor and personalized service.

I had been to the island before for the full moon party, which is why I was returning and I didn't want to be on Haad Rin this time for the party as it gets insane and I need to be able to leave the party when I want to, instead of being in it 24/7 due to having a room located in the heart of it, which Haad Rin is where the party goes down.

Koh Phangan is renowned for its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife. Relaxing on Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach was a highlight, with its soft sands and crystal-clear waters providing a perfect escape. Visiting Haad Rin Beach was a must, especially with the excitement of the Full Moon Party, where I danced the night away under the moonlit sky.

Exploring Bottle Beach was an adventure; I opted for a boat ride to this secluded paradise. Kayaking along the coastline was a great way to see the island from a different perspective. To top off my stay, I indulged in a beachfront spa treatment, which left me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Phi Phi Islands

Days 17-18

Paradise Pearl Bungalows

The Paradise Peal Bungalows was my home on these stunning islands. I chose this resort because I loved the reviews and it was an amazing deal at $30 a night. Phi Phi is a tiny place so no matter where you stay, everything is walking distance to each other. The bungalow did not disappoint, and I will def stay there again on my next trip to Phi Phi.

The Phi Phi Islands were a tropical paradise with breathtaking natural beauty. Visiting Maya Bay was a dream come true; its turquoise waters and limestone cliffs were as stunning as I imagined. Snorkeling at Bamboo Island was a highlight, with its vibrant coral reefs and colorful marine life.

Exploring Monkey Beach was a unique experience, as I watched the monkeys frolic along the shore. Viking Cave was fascinating, with its ancient paintings and the intriguing practice of bird's nest collection. A sunset boat tour around the islands offered incredible views and was the perfect way to end the day. I also tried my hand at spearfishing, which was both challenging and exhilarating.

Phuket

Ayutthaya was a fascinating journey into Thailand's rich history. Exploring Ayutthaya Historical Park was an incredible experience, with ancient temples and structures offering a glimpse into the past. Wat Mahathat was particularly striking, with its famous Buddha head entwined in tree roots.

Touring Wat Chaiwatthanaram provided stunning views of the Chao Phraya River and intricate architectural details. The Chao Sam Phraya National Museum offered a deeper understanding of the city's history with its impressive collection of artifacts and treasures. A riverboat tour allowed me to see Ayutthaya from a different perspective, while the local cuisine, especially the delicious roti sai mai, was a culinary delight.

Krabi

Days 28-29

Railay Bay Resort & Spa

The Railay Bay Resort & Spa in Krabi was a perfect location for me, as it was only a 2-3 minute walk for me from the beach and in the best area. Location, Location, Location! The resort awesome, with an pools that had to die for views of the ocean. It's where I watched the sunset every night, and just writing this I get goosebumps thinking about those nights.

Krabi's natural beauty was awe-inspiring, with dramatic landscapes and pristine beaches. Relaxing on Railay Beach was a dream, with its white sands and towering limestone cliffs. Visiting Phra Nang Cave Beach was a unique experience, with the cave shrine adding a touch of mystery to the stunning scenery.

Exploring the Emerald Pool was a refreshing experience, as I enjoyed a swim in its vibrant turquoise waters. Rock climbing offered an adrenaline rush and incredible views of the surrounding landscapes. A long-tail boat tour around the islands provided a closer look at Krabi’s natural beauty, while the fresh seafood, especially the grilled prawns, was a culinary delight.

Bangkok (Departure)

Day 30

For my last night in Thailand, I returned to the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. This luxurious hotel offered a familiar and comfortable stay, allowing me to reflect on my incredible journey through Thailand. The central location made it convenient to explore a few more attractions before my departure.

• MBK Center - A popular shopping mall with a variety of shops and eateries.
• Jim Thompson House - A museum dedicated to the American entrepreneur who revived the Thai silk industry.
• Erawan Shrine - A vibrant Hindu shrine known for its spiritual significance.

On my final day in Bangkok, I enjoyed some last-minute shopping at MBK Center, where I picked up souvenirs and enjoyed delicious street food (One of my favorite things to do in Southeast Asia and Thailand more generally).

Visiting the Jim Thompson House was also fascinating, offering insights into the life of the man who revived the Thai silk industry. Paying respects at the Erawan Shrine was a spiritual experience, as I joined locals in making offerings, as Buddhism is integral to Thai culture and you will see offerings everywhere you go through out the country.

For my farewell dinner, I indulged in a delicious Thai feast, savoring my last taste of Thailand’s incredible cuisine. A final stroll along the Chao Phraya River allowed me to take in the city’s vibrant atmosphere one last time. Before my departure, I relaxed at the hotel spa, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences and memories I had made during my 30-day journey through Thailand.
